The former democratic deputy, Vladimir Andronachi, accused of several cases of money laundering and connection with Vladimir Plahotniuc, was forced to return to the Republic of Moldova. The fugitive was declared undesirable on the territory of Ukraine and expelled. At the Criva-Mămăliga border crossing point he was taken over by the Border Police of the Republic of Moldova.
The details were provided on Wednesday by Veronica Dragalin, head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office.
"Ukrainian authorities have declared him persona non grata and expelled from the territory. We understand that this happened for two reasons: because Andronachi is associated with Vladimir Plahotniuc, who has been under US sanctions since last week. Secondly, considering the state of war, Ukraine has a certain policy towards foreign persons who are on the territory of the country", said Dragalin.
The anti-corruption prosecutor Octavian Iachimovschi stated that Andronachichi was taken to the National Anti-Corruption Center. He will be informed of the indictment order, after which he will appear before the investigating judge, to get notified of the 30 - day arrest warrant, released in his absence.
